Perfect Jewish songbook for a young kid

My 6 year old is just starting to learn piano, and he is just now getting introduced to chords and playing with both hands at the same time. It is always encouraging when a kid can sit at a piano, and instead of playing songs he has never heard (like "Merry Melody" or "Happy Hands"), he can hear a familiar tune come out of the piano that he is playing. This book fills the need perfectly. Most songs involve only 1 hand playing the complex part (it may switch left to right, but no combos), and if both hands are playing, often the left is just playing whole notes. Most of the songs don't use the black keys either. The print is bold and clear, and your child will be tapping out I had a little dreidel, Svivon, and Maoz Tzur in no time. You won't be booking any gigs with these arrangements, but that's not the point. They are ultra-simple, and great to build some confidence. As the child progresses, Al Hanism and Mi Y'malel are both a little more complex (but they are at the back). Recommended and worth the moeny for a child to learn.

I am very pleased with this music scores. My 6 year old daughter enjoys playing them. She knows some of them from her favorite cartoons (Little Einstein's, etc...),

I found it to be informative and easy to read

I purchased this book for a grad school class. Even though it is a textbook, I found it to be informative and easy to read. It does not read like a normal textbook, it's not as bland. I used this as a resource to write several papers from. This is one book I'm not going to sell back; I'm keeping it for reference. It includes recent content dealing with the Affordable Care Act, which is helpful. Excellent book for anyone needing it for class, or anyone who is interested in the structure of the current US health system, as well as that of other countries.

The book comes with online access to additional content. However, the "jblearn" website has many sections where trying to access the course material returns an error message. Customer support is unresponsive. I like the content of the book but this publisher's attempt to enter into an ebook market is a complete failure.

This is a great overall view to health care

This was an assigned textbook to my Masters in Health Administration class as an introduction to health care systems. I felt that this book was very logical and had a "story-telling" nature in the delivery of information. This is a great overall view to health care, as well as provides great introductions to many aspects of health care. As others have mentioned, it has a slightly pessimistic outlook to the health care "system" in that the book does not hesitate to point out the lack of a true system.

Very easy to learn with

This book was required for a class, and for once, my college finally picked a decent book to use. Everything is completely broken down so even new computer users can figure out what to do next. In that respect though, it might be considered a bit like cheating for the chapter review assignments. Each problem breaks down each step you are suppose to do to complete the problem, instead of making the student first read the chapter then learn and figure out how to do it themselves. Reading the actual chapter becomes almost unnecessary if not for the final chapters which become harder.

This is one of my favorite textbooks! Following along is easy and has helped make Access less complicated. I use this everyday to help me get through tough situations as I study. Access was very complicated for me, but now I feel more at ease with it. Great illustrations that help guide you through each step. Wonderful addition to your learning library for work or just for at home use.

I found this book to be a useful training tool for a beginner and intermediate user of MS Access 2007. I also think the Vista OS brief was excellent. This book is an excellent first read before reading the MS Access Comprehensive Complete.

The Papacy in the Age of Totalitarianism, 1914-1958 examines the most momentous years in papal history. Popes Benedict XV (1914-1922), Pius XI (1922-1939), and Pius XII (1939-1958) faced the challenges of two world wars and the Cold War, and threats posed by totalitarian dictatorships like Italian Fascism, German National Socialism, and Communism in Russia and China. The wars imposed enormous strains upon the unity of Catholics and the hostility of the totalitarian regimes to Catholicism lead to the Church facing persecution and martyrdom on a scale similar to that experienced under the Roman Empire and following the French Revolution.

At the same time, these were years of growth, development, and success for the papacy. Benedict healed the wounds left by the 'modernist' witch hunt of his predecessor and re-established the papacy as an influence in international affairs through his peace diplomacy during the First World War. Pius XI resolved the 'Roman Question' with Italy and put papal finances on a sounder footing. He also helped reconcile the Catholic Church and science by establishing the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and took the first steps to move the Church away from entrenched anti-Semitism. Pius XI continued his predecessor's policy of the 'indigenisation' of the missionary churches in preparation for de-colonisation. Pius XII fully embraced the media and other means of publicity, and with his infallible promulgation of the Assumption in 1950, he took papal absolutism and centralism to such heights that he has been called the 'last real pope'. Ironically, he also prepared the way for the Second Vatican Council.

John Pollard is a British historian, fellow of Trinity Hall at University of Cambridge and Emeritus Professor of Modern European History at Anglia Polytechnic University. His publications include Money and the Rise of the Modern Papacy: Financing the Vatican, 1850-1950 (Cambridge University Press, 2008) and Benedict XV: The Pope of Peace (Burns and Oates Ltd., 2005).
