When Kristie comes home from college, the last thing she expects is her world to be turned upside down by the appearance of a handsome, gruff stranger, Gray. He is the head of a biker gang in town called the Devil’s Advocates.

Kristie’s mom asks if she can befriend Gray in hopes of getting him on the straight and narrow. The plan backfires, however, as Kristie finds herself falling for Gray. Is it possible he feels the same way? The connection between them threatens to tear down everything Kristie has ever held dear.

The more she falls for Gray, the more messy things get. As Gray gets yanked further and further into the world of his gang, Kristie finds herself having to make a choice: stay on her own path or risk everything to be with Gray. Will she be able to make it out unscathed?

Book 2

Kristie has finally graduated from college. With a new boyfriend in tow, Gray’s rival, Armand, and moving back into her mother’s house, it feels as if life might finally fall back into place. But Gray, the love of her life and her cousin by marriage, happens to return after hiding out of town. He’s been freed of being suspected of a murder he didn’t commit and is now looking to reclaim glory in his gang, the Devil’s Advocates, once again.

But both Kristie and Gray are in for surprises. People aren’t always what they seem. Kristie struggles to work through her relationship problems with Armand while Gray struggles to fall back into a position of power in the life he left behind. As the two of them are drawn closer together, both must choose the life they want – with each other, or alone. No matter what they end up picking, the risks in their lives can end up costing the two of them everything.

Book 3

It’s been six months since Kristie was taken down in a gun fight related to her husband’s gang activity. Kristie finds herself struggling to get over the traumatic incident to move on with her life. She only wants one thing now – a child to call her own.

Despite Gray’s promise to leave the gang behind, he finds himself searching for Armand and a way to take out the Infernos. Kristie protests, saying that she wants to forget about it and start a new life together. But Gray cannot let go of the fact that Armand almost killed his wife.

Kristie and Gray find themselves losing sense of their relationship. Kristie is unable to conceive and feels as if she is failing Gray. Meanwhile, Gray throws himself into the Devil’s Advocates.

The cycle of violence continues but this time the stakes might be too high and the price to pay might only be one of blood.

Book 4

When Kristie discovers she is pregnant after thinking she cannot conceive, her world is flipped even more upside down. Her best friend had just been gunned down in a gang related shooting and her husband, Gray, is in a battle for his life with a rival gang.

Kristie finds herself juggling her pregnancy and the daughter she had adopted from her best friend. She finds herself being dragged into the dark world of the gang war against her bidding and must find a way to survive with her children.

Gray has a plan to get their happily-ever-after life but it is risky. He isn’t sure if it will pay off or not. With different cards to play and different people to keep wrapped around his finger, Gray puts everything at stake to get rid of Armand.

But Armand won’t go quietly. As the fighting continues, Kristie and Gray realize that everything is at stake.

Love this series!!!!!

Having read some MC books before I was expecting it to be fairly predictable but as soon as I started reading this series I knew it was different to other books.While other MC series involve the female interest getting immersed into club life this series took the opposite approach where she wanted nothing to do with it, in switching perspectives of the book Carla Coxwell has changed what could've been a predictable plot to a plot that focuses on human struggles.
What I like most about this series is that we as the reader get to see the other side of the coin in how Gray struggles to leave his former life and look after Kristie as well, the struggles that the couple goes through as individuals and together was what made me keep on reading this series because like most readers I was waiting for that HEA and thankfully it came in the end.

Loved reading this series!! It has all the ingredients for a great story love,danger, suspense, and a sexy motorcycle rider (just picture Charlie Hunnam a.k.a. Jax Teller and you can't go wrong!! Lol). In all seriousness I read a lot on here and I can tell you this is absolutely worth the read there are a few parts that I could have done without that I didn't feel the main character would have done(I don't want to give away spoilers) but it doesn't hurt the story at all!! I can't wait to read more from this author in the future for sure!!!

I have just started getting into MC romance novels when this one popped up as one I might liked. I read the first book and immediately liked the story of Gray and Kristie. It ended up taking a different path that I had expected but one I enjoyed. I ended up reading the whole series in just a few days. I don't like giving away any details of the books so I won't but I would recommend this series to all that like a little switch up.

Ruth's book is an interesting introduction to gangster movies and their function in American Culture. Although Ruth's writing is somewhat dull, the way he reveals deep connections between gangster movies (e.g. The Public Enemy) and contemporaraneous cultural anxieties is remarkable. A fine introduction to ways of discussing the political implications of popular culture; recommended for high schoolers and early college readers interested in the subject.

An excellent introductory book to the New Testament

There are many introductory books to the New Testament in the market and many more are being published and reedited. That is the case of the book What the New Testament Authors Really Cared About: A Survey of Their Writings (2nd ed).

This book could be catalogued as an introduction to the New Testament because that is the purpose of this book. The book is structured and divided by biblical authors and the books they wrote. Its main focus is to provide readers with a better understanding of what was the main purpose of every New Testament writer to write the book or letter they wrote.

Every chapter opens by answering the questions Who? When? Where? and Why? These are the basic questions that every Bible student should seek to answer in order to be able to understand the basic of every book. Then the authors include carefully crafted verses from the book under study. The authors do not engage in theological, exegetical discussions, or textual issues. Instead they provide an overview of the context of each book and the author’s main purpose.

The book includes an introductory chapter entitled “Walking in the Sands of a First-Century Jew.” This chapter summarizes the Assyrian and the Babylonian exiles, the Persian and Greek periods, and how these events affected the nation of Israel. It also covers the transition from intertestamental time to the Roman Empire as the New Testament authors knew it. The chapter provides a solid base for the study of the following chapters.

A noteworthy characteristic from this book is the maps, charts, graphics, tables, and pictures it includes. That is a very helpful aid for students who are in the process of getting familiar to the New Testament and its times and custom. The hardcover and format make this book resistant to manipulation without the inconvenient of heaviness.

In summary, its structure and content make this book an excellent resource for seminary students, pastors, Bible students, and Christians in general. If you are planning to teach introduction to the New Testament in your church or to a group of students who have never study the New Testament before, this could be one of the most helpful books you can use for that purpose. Highly recommended.

What the New Testament Authors Really Cared About: a Survey of Their Writings, edited by Kenneth Berding & Matt Williams could well be used as a textbook in high school, college, or seminary to introduce the books of the New Testament and to give an overview about the most important aspects of the book form the point of view of the author. The book is very readable, but not dumbed down.

The editors have arranged their textbook by author of the New Testament, and each overview begins with answers to who, when, where, and why for each book. Then they look at the major themes presented, supplemented with a good number of charts. Maps, and on location pictures.

Through the text, there are side bubbles where the editors tell the read how each author would want us to respond to various texts. Each chapter ends with a brief summary, key words and concepts for review, and a list of further resources.

The book is sturdy and very useful – it could also be used by ministers to give them an overview/background to the book they are preaching from.

The editors work hard not to espouse a particular denomination, and they present variant vies and questions about certain texts, such as the ending of Mark (70).

I was pleased to see that – with the exception of Revelation – the editors dated the books prior to 70 AD (though I would also argue that Revelation was written earlier).

I was disappointed in the editors’ discussion about the rapture for two reasons: some scholars argue there is no such thing to be found in the Bible, and I agree with them (256).

That aside, this is a very useful first book on the New Testament canon (there is also an Old Testament companion volume).

Very nice intermediate NT survey

When I had the opportunity to review this book, I took it without deliberating because I reviewed its predecessor, What the Old Testament Authors Really Cared About, which I was very impressed with, and find very helpful as a reference tool.

The artwork is on the hardcover, which I really like, instead of a dust jacket. The paper and everything else about it is very high quality. Color is used throughout making it pleasing to look at, and the table of contents has a list almost four pages long of maps, photographs, and tables, to give you an idea of how illustrative it is. As with most things “illustrated”, there are many photographs that are fillers–they could probably have been taken anywhere. I may have been more judicious and not have to have photos everywhere just because. On the other hand, it would be hard to find completely relevant photographs to find for every space that an image would occupy.

It’s a New Testament introduction (or survey) of sorts, but written by those who teach undergraduates as opposed to those in seminary or graduate courses. The audience is for the less scholarly inclined and more for the regular person who would like to get a good overview of each book of the New Testament, and specifically what each inspired author was conveying to their original audience. There are also “more than one hundred applications highlighted in sidebars to clarify how the New Testament authors might apply their writings to Christians living in the twenty-first century.”

I found some of it to be somewhat of a summary of the Biblical book, which is rather simple, but the majority is on what each author emphasizes and is conveying to his audience.

The book is generally theologically neutral, but is bent towards the Calvinist end. This may be more apparent in some of the usual areas.

The first chapter, Walking in the Sandals of a First-Century Jew, is extremely helpful. This provides a backdrop of where the authors are coming from and who some of their original audience is.

There is no introduction to the gospels, which I at first found puzzling. I then realized that the book is focused on each author. However, What the Old Testament Authors Really Cared About has a very helpful introduction to the minor prophets. I think one for at least the Synoptic Gospels would have been helpful to show the differences even more than the similarities. There is an introduction to Paul’s writings which is very informative.

For those who would like something other than the mammoth New Testament introductions, like deSilva’s–which I have–and is literally the biggest (tallest) book I have, but something more comprehensive than what a study Bible would have in their introductions to each book, this is a good fit. I’m very glad to have it as a reference book.

It's an OK book but would have like to review a few pages before. It sounds like it's from a foreign country just by the verbage. This industry is important to our economy and a clear understanding of it for students interested in entering this field requires an American text with global information. This is good for getting a little look into it. Going more current is better.

The sex was alright, the storyline decent if not a little cliche... I do think the H could've been written a little more alpha and it would've taken this book to whole new levels. Still, it's a light easy, sexy read if you've got a couple hours to kill.

Worth reading and a much recommended book to read!

I have always liked the author's style of writing and her imagination. I find the story so fascinating that I could not put my kindle book down as soon as I started reading it. Love the details and love the emotions that the author portray and put into each story! It was worth reading and I am pretty sure I will be keeping this in my collection! Recommended to all readers that like this kind of genre!

Inconsistencies in storyline. Lacking character development in "hero". Heroine really not fleshed out either. Usually really enjoy this writer's work. Was she rushed to finish?
